Property-Tax Savings Estimator
Most states waive some or all of a disabled veteran’s home property tax. This estimator shows roughly what that could put back in your pocket. It is an estimate, your exact break depends on your state and county, so check your state’s page and your county assessor for the real number.
It is the total on your property-tax statement. No statement handy? Estimate it as your home’s value times your local tax rate (often around 1%). So a $300,000 home is roughly $3,000 a year.
Not sure? Choose “I’m not sure yet” and we’ll point you to your state’s rule.
Estimate only, not tax or legal advice. Exemptions vary by state and county and usually have conditions (a minimum rating, income limits, the home must be your primary residence, and application deadlines). Confirm with your state’s benefits page, our guide to the disabled-veteran property-tax exemption, and your county assessor.
